A New Year’s Eve Wedding….

Drew and Zach were married in Norman on NYE. Seven47 Restaurant in Norman was the backdrop for their beautiful reception. I never met Drew in person. Her Mother, Janet came in and we decided to design Drew’s cake based on the Save-The-Date…and the color palette for the reception. It was ivory and taupe, with gold and silver. What a show stopper the reception was! Janet is the Assistant Professor over Interior Design for OU. She has amazing taste, and did such a fabulous job on all of the touches. My cake featured in Cake Central National Magazine….

I was so honored to be included in the recent issue of Cake Central Magazine. They asked me to create something for their Winter Wonderland Theme. I knew right away that I wanted to use silver and white. I also knew that I wanted to create something that a bride would actually use at her wedding. Starting with the top tier, I covered it in white fondant. I then create a band out of silver fondant to wrap around the center of the cake. I made a fondant brooch to replicate a modern day snowflake. The second and bottom tier were covered in hundreds of hand cut ruffled rose petals. I loved sitting and ruffling each and every petal. The 3rd tier was covered in silver fondant. I then hand piped a white pattern onto the tier. The entire cake was covered in edible glitter to make it spark like snow. I was beyond thrilled when I saw Cassie’s idea for her wedding cake. She knew exactly what she wanted, and created the most fabulous sketch for me to use as inspiration. Seriously, I think I am going to hire her part time just to sketch my cakes! It was that good. Her colors were turquoise, red, and white. I created two tiers covered in fondant with a buttercream damask pattern, and two tiers were covered in gorgeous hand made ruffles in turquoise. The cake was staged beautifully. It was such an honor to create the cake for Leslie and Kris’ wedding. When Leslie contacted me, she already knew the beautiful cake she wanted to create. I was so excited when I saw her design. I love working with fondant….and this was truly a joy to see it come to fruition. I hand made the fondant ruffles and layered them on the cake that was covered with fondant. Elegant was the theme for this baby shower to welcome a little boy. I custom created the wrappers to match the black and white affair. The jumbo cupcakes were swirled with baby blue buttercream. The Mayo Affair….

When I met with Courtney at the beginning of the year, I was so excited when I saw the design she wanted of her cake. I knew that the end result would be breathtaking. I iced her cake in ivory buttercream. I then hand made a fondant rose and place it into the center of the cake. By using a large petal cutter, I created hand made rose petals and layered them starting at the center and covering the entire cake. The reception was on the 16th Floor of the Mayo hotel, and the Ballroom created the most stunning backdrop for the cake. My husband, www.kevinpaulphotography.com was able the drama of the room and the end result left me with goosebumps!
